Whoever entered the Federal Garden Show (BUGA) in Munich 2005 at the south entrance, enjoyed a beautiful view of the 190 hectare large area from the outside staircase of the German Pavilion, before going through the gardens. The Pavilion offered not only the highest passable viewpoint at the BUGA, apart from the cable car and the two sleigh hills, it was also an ecological high-tech construction. The German Pavilion resembled a hill cut into stripes.
Six wooden discs divided construction and at the same time acted as its support walls. The largest discs measured 54 metres and were eight metres high at its highest point.
